and collector, so the name Common Emitter.\u00a0\u00a0 If VIN is a sine wave AC, the output will be a inverted sine wave offset by 180 degrees and amplified.\u00a0\u00a0 High power gain with common the quiescent voltage.<br \/>\u03b2 =100 is what most set it to.\u00a0 It is a safe number.<\/p><p>RB1 and RB2 is the biased part of the circuit.\u00a0\u00a0 The Transistor, RC, and RE are the amplifier part.\u00a0\u00a0 Capacitor is for input and output stages.<\/p><p>\u00a0Resistors power limit is 0.25W.\u00a0 We will set Power<sub>RC<\/sub> = 0.2W, you can use this for all resistors based on the spec sheet.<br \/>We se V<sub>bias<\/sub> = V<sub>RE<\/sub>(Q) + V<sub>CB<\/sub>(Q) = 1.2V + 0.7V = 1.9V<br \/>to\u00a0 V<sub>RE<\/sub>(Q) to 10% of V<sub>AMP<\/sub>.\u00a0 10% is just a rule that some use.<\/p><p>The base voltage is 0.7V.\u00a0 It is the most common setting for a transistor.\u00a0 RE setting will offset 0.7V being lower.<br \/>We will look at setting the voltage for the emitter side: V<sub>RE<\/sub> = 10% of V<sub>amp<\/sub> = 12V @ 10% = 1.2V.\u00a0 V<sub>bias<\/sub> = V<sub>RE<\/sub>(Q) + V<sub>CB<\/sub>(Q) = 1.2V + 0.7V = 1.9V<\/p><p>We will look at the calculations for the collector side with this:\u00a0 Set quiescent voltage of V<sub>RC<\/sub> to\u00a0 (12V &#8211; 1.9V) \/2 = 5.05V..\u00a0\u00a0 You set this number to the half way point based on left over voltage from the base and emitter.<\/p><p>Power<sub>RC<\/sub> = V * I<br \/>0.2W = 5.05V * I<br \/>I<sub>RC<\/sub> = 0.0396A or 39.6mA<\/p><p>V<sub>RC<\/sub> = I * R<br \/>5.05V = 39.6mA * R<br \/>R<sub>C<\/sub> = 127.5\u03a9.\u00a0\u00a0 You can always select your R<sub>C<\/sub> and then calculate the power.<\/p><p>\u03b2 * I<sub>B<\/sub>(Q) = I<sub>C<\/sub>(Q)\u00a0 =<br \/>I<sub>B<\/sub>(Q) = 39.6mA \/ 100 = 0.396mA = 0.000396A<\/p><p>I<sub>E<\/sub> = I<sub>B<\/sub> + I<sub>C<br \/><\/sub> =39.6mA + 0.396mA = 39.996mA or 40mA<\/p><p>R<sub>E<\/sub> = V<sub>E<\/sub> \/ I<sub>E<\/sub> = 1.2V \/ 0.040 = 30\u03a9<\/p><p>Now we look at the other side of the circuit the biased side with resistors RB1 and RB2.\u00a0 V<sub>amp<\/sub>=5V<\/p><p>RB1 + RB2 \u2264\u00a0 V<sub>amp<\/sub> \/ ( 10 * I<sub>B<\/sub>(Q) )\u00a0 \u2264 5V \/ 10 * 0.000396A ) \u2264 1263\u03a9<\/p><p>RB2 would have the same voltage as R<sub>E <\/sub>which is 1.9V \/ 5V * 1263\u03a9 = 479.79 or 480\u03a9<br \/>RB1 = (5V &#8211; 1.9V) \/ 5V * 1263\u03a9 is about 786\u03a9. You can choose less than both RB1 and RB2 as long as the sum is less than
